May Raise-A-Thon

One of the core objectives of Pride Run & Walk is to raise money for local charities and we feel that you should be rewarded for helping us to achieve that goal.

As such, we’ve decided that the individual who raises the most amount of money this month* will take home a $100 gift card to Cactus club and two tickets to see the Whitecaps playoff against Minnesota on July 28th which also happens to be Pride Night!

This prize is made possible by our generous sponsors, Whitecaps and Anshu Arora of Remax Central.

Where does the money go?

Good question! You can read up about our beneficiaries here: https://vancouverfrontrunners.org/priderun/fundraising/

*Competition is from May 1st 12:00am to May 31st 11:59pm. 2018, awarded to the participant with most amount of pledges via our RaceRoster registration system. Winner announced in July newsletter.

Vancouver Pride Society – A force to be reckoned with

For a few years now we have partnered with the Vancouver Pride Society (VPS) whose commitment, support and guidance has helped our event grow to the size it is. Immediately following Pride Run is the VPS’s ‘Pride Sports Day’ where LGBTQ2+ sports clubs from across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland come together to showcase and demonstrate their offerings.

Pride Sports Day also has interactions from some of the bigger names in the industry, like Whitecaps and the Canucks. Second Beach Park is transformed into a field of activities for people of all ages and abilities along with a lineup of Food Trucks to keep you going and a Beer Garden to enjoy an adult beverage.

Pride Run & Walk together with Pride Sports Day is the perfect kick off to the Pride Season helping you get energized for everything that’s about the follow this season!

Vancouver Sun Run

Oh what a glorious day for a run! The Vancouver Frontrunners team joined over 41,000 others at the most beautiful Vancouver Sun Run in recent memory. We recorded multiple personal bests, a few first Sun Runs, and NO injuries. We also got to splash our logo on the back of this year’s fashionable green and grey technical tees, so people will be seeing us around town all summer. We’d like to offer our thanks to everyone who came out the night before, the brunch after, cheered us on throughout the course, took photos, and just gave it until it was gone. Special shout out to Rohan for being our team captain!

The night before the run a bunch of members and Sun Runners got together for pints and conversation at the Blarney Stone, and after, we had to stop in at Fountainhead for more of the same!

If you missed the Sun Run, but you want to gear up for the Pride Run and Walk, we are offering a FREE 10 week learn to run program starting May 12th. You can sign up here.
